Scope.

Bridlington Care Home had just been added to a 16-home portfolio for Yorkare Homes, with Carbon Synergy being the client's only preferred electrical contractor.

This care home project is a 59-bedroom development which was delivered under a new main contractor aiming to reduce the traditional programme length from 14 - 15 months to under 12 months. Carbon Synergy provided a full electrical package-power, lighting, fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, EV charging, data infrastructure, and access control.

Design was carried out in-house with the client providing early and ongoing input.

A key element of the project involved designing sympathetic external lighting due to restrictions relating to adjacent woodland.

Challenges.

  • Adhering to strict planning constraints around light pollution while maintaining safety.
  • Working under a new contractor with a condensed delivery schedule.
  • Ensuring smooth coordination between disciplines on a fast-moving build.

Key Takeaways.

  • Environmental constraints were successfully addressed without compromising safety.
  • Proven adaptability when collaborating with new delivery partners.
  • Continued demonstration of value through speed and attention to detail.

"We were delighted to work with Carbon Synergy once again on our Bridlington Care Home project. As our only preferred electrical contractor, they have consistently demonstrated outstanding technical ability and a genuine understanding of our care home environments.

From the earliest design stage, the Carbon Synergy team worked closely with us to ensure our requirements were fully met. Their in-house design expertise proved invaluable -  particularly in creating external lighting solutions that complied with strict environmental restrictions while ensuring safety and accessibility for our residents and staff.

Despite a condensed build schedule and working alongside a new main contractor, Carbon Synergy delivered every aspect of the electrical package, power, lighting, fire safety systems, EV charging, data infrastructure, and access control - on time and to an exceptional standard.

Their proactive approach, attention to detail, and ability to adapt to challenges make them a trusted partner for Yorkare Homes. We look forward to continuing our strong working relationship on future projects."
